About JMED Research and Development on Medical Sciences

JMED Research and Development on Medical Sciences is a scholarly publishing organization located in Iligan City, Philippines. It provides academic publication platforms for researchers, educators, healthcare professionals, practitioners, students, institutional leaders, and policymakers.

The publisher manages journals in health professions education, radiologic technology, language, literature, linguistics, educational leadership, and multidisciplinary studies. Although the name of the publisher reflects its foundation in medical and health sciences, its journal portfolio supports scholarly work from several disciplines that contribute to human development, education, professional practice, institutional improvement, and social transformation.

JMED expects authors, editors, reviewers, and publisher personnel to act honestly and responsibly throughout the submission, review, production, and publication process.

Editorial Independence

Publication decisions are made by journal editors based on scholarly merit, ethical compliance, and peer-review findings. The publisher does not require an editor to accept a manuscript for financial or institutional reasons.

Transparency

JMED clearly discloses its ownership, contact information, editorial processes, publication charges, licensing arrangements, peer-review procedures, correction policies, and other relevant publishing practices.

Accountability

Authors are accountable for the accuracy and integrity of their work. Reviewers are accountable for fair and confidential evaluation. Editors are accountable for objective decisions. The publisher is accountable for maintaining credible systems and protecting the scholarly record.

Accessibility

JMED supports the responsible accessibility and discoverability of scholarly work through appropriate licensing, stable article pages, reliable metadata, persistent identifiers, and long-term preservation.

Publisher Governance

JMED Research and Development on Medical Sciences provides administrative, technological, communication, financial, and production support to its journals.

The publisher’s responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining publisher and journal websites;
  • Maintaining manuscript submission and editorial systems;
  • Providing administrative support to editors and reviewers;
  • Coordinating copyediting, layout, proofreading, and online publication;
  • Maintaining article metadata and journal archives;
  • Processing official publication charges, invoices, and receipts;
  • Supporting DOI registration and maintenance, when applicable;
  • Maintaining preservation and backup arrangements;
  • Responding to technical and administrative concerns;
  • Supporting investigations of publication ethics concerns; and
  • Protecting the independence of journal editors.

The academic management of each journal is assigned to its Editor-in-Chief and editorial board. The Editor-in-Chief has authority over manuscript screening, reviewer assignment, editorial evaluation, acceptance, rejection, correction, retraction, and other decisions concerning journal content.

Editorial Independence

The publisher recognizes the editorial independence of every JMED journal.

Editors assess manuscripts according to:

  • Relevance to the journal’s aims and scope;
  • Originality and scholarly contribution;
  • Methodological or analytical soundness;
  • Quality and clarity of presentation;
  • Ethical compliance;
  • Reliability of evidence;
  • Appropriateness of conclusions; and
  • Recommendations of qualified reviewers.

Publication decisions are not determined by:

  • Payment or nonpayment of publication charges;
  • Personal relationships;
  • Institutional affiliation;
  • Professional rank;
  • Political or religious belief;
  • Nationality or geographic origin;
  • Pressure from owners, sponsors, advertisers, or partner institutions; or
  • The likelihood that an article will generate income or publicity.

When a manuscript is submitted by an editor, editorial board member, publisher employee, owner, or close collaborator, the concerned person must not participate in its assessment. The manuscript must be assigned to an independent editor who has no relevant conflict of interest.

Our History

JMED Research and Development on Medical Sciences was established in 2023 in Iligan City, Philippines, to support the responsible publication and dissemination of scholarly research.

The publisher initially focused on health professions education. Its journal portfolio later expanded to include radiologic technology, language, literature, linguistics, educational leadership, and multidisciplinary studies.
